The '97' repeater is based on a Kenwood TKR-750 commercial repeater.
Most commercial two-way in the US have 150 MHz as the low end of their alignment.
That is because the commercial band normally runs from 150-170 MHz.
This equipment was designed for the ''low cut'' which includes the 2-meter band.
That allowed this commercial Kenwood TKR-750 to be optimally tuned to 146.970 Mhz.
These repeaters were designed for an output power of 50 Watts intermittent and 25 Watts continuous duty.
The ''97'' reapeter is operating at the recommended output of 25 watts in order to provide
extended life, reliability, and longer periods of continuous emergency operation.
The repeater Xmtr output is connected to a TxRx brand 4-cavity duplexer that was recently purchased by the club.
This TxRx duplexer has a specified loss of 1.5 db and provides more than 85 db of isolation.
The transmission line is 7/8 inch Andrew.
The antenna is a DB-224 which is a 4-element folded dipole array in omni configuration.
This antenna sits atop a 330' tower located near Waterbury Nebraska.
The base of the tower is at an elevation of 1500 feet above sea level.
With consideration for all losses in the transmission pathway the system is
producing a nominal RF power output
of somewhere between 12 and fifteen watts.
FYI:
Although the repeater's location is in Nebraska the assigned access tone for KØTFT Sioux City ''37/97'' repeater is 110.9 hz.

A special note of thanks go to ABØMZ, Bob Cain, for his expertise and for supplying me with the needed technical information. There is also special recognition for KEØILP, Brian, who also posseses advanced repeater system technical knowledge and maintenance skills.
Then there is Reliable Rick my Data Dealer. KDØXD helps me with the task of keeping the active directory list accurate and up to date with QRZ verification. He ships me Emails that fill in the gaps when I am not sure of a call, name, or QTH.
One final word, for now...QRZ!
We would really like to hear from everyone.
You can Email comments and suggestions to Webmaster.
QST...Please! Spread the word about this website and our group of active participants.
Tell all amateur radio clubs and organizations that they are welcome to submit their events for posting on SC97NET.NET
If your contact is on '97' be sure to tell them about net call Monday thru Friday at 7:50 AM.
